Our location in Charlottesville, VA currently has an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer III is within our Cardiometabolic & Informatics business unit.  This role will be responsible for participating in the continual evolvement of our cloud solutions.  The individual should have solid understanding of cloud technology, automated deployment of infrastructure, configuration management, and cybersecurity.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Implement and maintain the continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines, using tools like Azure DevOps Server and Jenkins, as part of the application lifecycle management employed by the development teams.

  • Assist with administration and configuration management of Git repositories, including creation of branches and pull request review.

  • Participate in cybersecurity assessments and evaluations for software applications and computerized systems.

  • Participate in the development of IT solutions for development and commercialization purposes; such as cloud hosting environment, virtual images, hardware evaluation and selection.

  • Collaborate with all departments across the organization, as well as corporate teams.

  • Participate in the design, development, and deployment of high availability systems in a cloud environment.

  • Provide ongoing management, administration, monitoring, and support of deployed infrastructure to Azure cloud environment.

  • Develop automated deployments through infrastructure-as-code (IaC), using tools like Terraform.

  • Develop project documentation, such as requirements, design documents, test plans, test cases, product specifications, white papers, training material, and installation guides.

  • Perform evaluation and qualification of 3rd party suppliers, and initiate purchase orders for Engineering.

  • Perform evaluation and qualification of 3rd party systems and applications.

  • Perform analysis and investigation of product issues.

  • Provide after-hours support when necessary, and be on call as needed.

  • Occasional travel



 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related degree. OR Minimum education is an Associate degree plus 10 years of work experience

  • 5 years of software development (C#, .Net, Java, SQL)


Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience with Terraform.

  • Experience coding in at least one language.

  • Experience developing Infrastructure-as-code

  • Experience in the administration of IT infrastructure

  • Experience with management and administration of a data center

  • Experience creating technical documentation

  • Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools, such as System Center, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar.

  • Exposure to the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Exposure to Git source/version control repository

  • Exposure to automated build and deployment tools in Microsoft Azure DevOps Server
