Job Summary:

The Director, Instructional Design and Production is responsible for a combination of project management, establishing best practices, content consolidation, instructional and learning design, and training. The Director must have an eye for design and attention to detail, it is also important that the person know how to organize projects, check for consistency across multiple forms of content, identify ways to consolidate the content in a meaningful and easily accessible way, establish best practices for content production, and create content that is appropriate for the audience. They will collaborate with other members of the Professional Development team and subject-matter experts throughout our
company to significantly expand the quantity and quality of training content for the Acelero Learning /Shine Early Learning network. We are looking for an experienced leader who will take the initiative to identify and build solutions throughout the network.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Creates a content development strategy and manage the day-to-day production requirements
and overall production vision for programmatic content
Collaborates to develop Acelero Learnings content strategy; work with the various
stakeholders across the organization (Professional Development, Human Resources,
Education Team, Partners, etc) to identify the current structure of content
Researches, ideates and creates proposals on ways to organize the content, best
practices for content development and production, and content management systems
Collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure that the curriculum resources and
materials are written with digital content development principles in mind

Develops frameworks to support with the identification and curation of existing high-
quality Pre-K content

Develops a digital asset management and distribution plan to oversee projects related to
programmatic content design (professional development, curriculum, family engagement, etc.)
Oversees content management hub

Creates programmatic content style guide font and writing styles, cultural references,
etc.
Creates rules for programmatic content nomenclature
Creates rules for programmatic content storage and sharing rights, etc
Develops programmatic content production
Oversees translators for translating content in Spanish
Creates rules for visual programmatic content
Tracks progress of content development and ensure timelines are met
Provides administrative and support (e.g., negotiate complex vendor contracts; manage a
budget; collaborate with HR, legal, finance, etc. to build and maintain efficient administrative
processes for the content design and production team
Supervision
Supervises assigned department personnel. Includes the following responsibilities, but are not
limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the
completion of all work performed by direct reports
Educates direct reports on all department and agency policies and procedures
Meets with assigned staff to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and
review work processes and procedures
Represents the team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as required

Additional requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Learning or in a related area with a certification/coursework in Instructional Design required

  • 7+ years of experience integrating educational research and learning science principles into the
    design of content and curriculum

  • Experience identifying and implementing a cross-team content or learning management system

  • Experience and knowledge of the early childhood landscape and systems

  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions

  • Position pays between $85,000-$105,000 annually
