Product Owner (Director), Core Engineering, New York/Chicago
Department Overview:
The Fitch Group "Tech Enablement Tribe" (TE&D) is a senior engineering organization responsible for building modern DevOps Tools and Infrastructure Services for all Fitch Business Units. Split between Chicago, New York, and London the team provides Core Engineering and Service Reliability Engineering, enabling Fitch's software development tribes to build industry-leading products. TE&D builds scalable, forward-thinking, and cost-effective platforms and brings deep partnership and expertise to our peer organizations.
Who we are looking for:
A leader for the Core Engineering (CE) team who brings experience coordinating and coaching teams, as well as deep technical knowledge and expertise in service automation and engineering. As Core Engineering Product Owner, you will define the roadmap and trajectory for critical CI/CD and OS Build services for all of Fitch Group. You will be responsible for ensuring safe adoption of new technology and increasing standardisation of AWS, MS Azure, Kubernetes, Bitbucket, Jenkins/Bamboo, Artifactory and security scanning tools. You will coordinate closely with your Tribe Lead to stay aligned on business goals and make sure your squad is progressing and delivering against them. You will build deep engineering expertise within your team, set professional guidelines and develop a skilled network of individuals who can support the mission.
Key responsibilities:

Develop next generation Developer Portal and CI/CD tooling with Enterprise Architecture team
Deliver next-generation OS and Container-build pipelines (Leveraging Linux and Windows, favoring Kubernetes)
Lead development of Config Management and Cloud automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible)
Lead build-out and standardisation of Pipeline tools and environment (Bitbucket, Jenkins/Bamboo, Artifactory, etc)
Provide feedback & coaching to Core Engineering to improve domain knowledge and performance
Lead with a mindset for Continuous Improvement across tools
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance or Business Management, or equivalent experience
Proven track record of delivering results and impact
Senior-level experience leading, coaching, and developing people and teams
Technical competency in: AWS services and scaled cloud computing; automation engineering; service telemetry environments; DevOps tooling & deployment pipelines; lean process improvement
Experience working at scale with: Windows; Linux; Kubernetes; Network; Storage; system config management
Technical competency in Scrum & Kanban methods; lean process improvement; app. development lifecycle
In-depth knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Build Pipeline systems (Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar)
Ability to think creatively and brainstorm to find solutions for challenges
A continuous improvement mind-set and dedication to uncovering better ways of working
Excellent communications, client partnership, and people-interaction skills
5+ years of working experience leading an engineering group
