Due-Diligence Analyst - Private Equity and Real Assets Team

**Job Description:**
The CIO Private Markets due-diligence team is responsible for sourcing, reviewing and monitoring private equity and real assets investments on the Merrill Lynch and Private Bank platforms. The Due-Diligence Analyst on the Private Equity and Real Assets Team will be part of the broader CIO-Due-Diligence team in ISG and will:
+ Source new investment funds across the various private market strategy universe for the platform. Utilize existing network and industry databases to aid in sourcing. Continue to develop relationships with industry participants.
+ Review fund investments through detailed calls and meetings with the portfolio management team.
+ Thorough review of all fund documentation and quantitative modeling and analysis of fund and deal level data.
+ Work closely with our business due-diligence and product origination teams throughout the fund review.
+ Detail findings in an investment memo and present to investment and product approval committees.
+ Support the Alternative Investment distribution team, financial advisors and clients by participating in calls and meetings to discuss merits of investments and our due-diligence process.
+ Continue to monitor existing fund investments through their investment lifecycle. Write quarterly/semi-annual commentaries detailing fund results to date.
+ Formulate private market strategy views by analyzing industry trends and metrics.
+ Work closely and support senior due-diligence analysts on new fund reviews and monitoring.
+ Lead team projects and initiatives.
**Experience and Skills Needed:**
+ Minimum of 10 years of investment experience with a strong focus on private market investments. Vice President level position on the team.
+ Strong understanding and experience investing in illiquid private market strategies including Buyout, Venture Capital, Real-Estate, Infrastructure and Private Credit.
+ Experience investing in funds or evaluating direct investments in Venture Capital or Growth Equity a plus.
+ Support investment due-diligence process from start to finish for new funds added to the platform. Job entails sourcing and analyzing investments, monitoring existing fund investments, writing detailed investment memos and commentaries, presenting findings to committees and working on team projects.
+ Strong GP network to source high quality fund investments is a plus.
+ Company specific modelling and valuation skills is a plus.
+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information through both a quantitative and qualitative lens.
+ Job requires strong written and communication skills in order to present findings to committees, advisors and clients in a clear and articulate way. Strong presentation skills are a plus.
+ Additional skills include proficiency with Excel, Thompson One, Preqin and Cambridge data for modeling purposes.
+ Must be comfortable dealing with senior executives at private market firms.
+ Team player comfortable working across ISG and Business lines
+ Travel is involved to meet fund managers and attend annual meetings.
