Role Summary and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is a QA practitioner who is ready to take the next career step. Leveraging your subject matter expertise, you will lead a team of Test Automation Engineers and Manual Testers to mature their testing and quality assurance measures. You will have the opportunity to coach others, establish best practices, and continue to grow your own technical skills. You will be part of a high-performing agile team that delivers tangible results.
You will be responsible for:
Working independently
Establishing best practices for testing and related quality assurance measures applied broadly across Agile teams
Consulting to teams on continuous integration/testing/deployment
Providing subject matter expertise to peers on unit, functional, and non-functional testing
Collaborating with Engineering Managers and Tech Leads across teams to set quality targets
Measuring and tracking application quality performance indicators
Presenting ideas and progress updates to Engineering Directors
Implement Test Automation leveraging test automation frameworks while driving processes to reduce manual test coverage
Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to validate business use cases
Work directly with QA analysts to develop and review test plans in accordance with the established test framework
Influencing Product Owners to prioritize testing
Business Knowledge
Demonstrates deep knowledge of products/flows within supported businesses
Makes decisions that are cognizant of the firms broader business strategy and future priorities
Recommends solutions aligned with Global Technology and business unit strategies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND -8+ years of total relevant work experience
Defines testing strategy for products and ensures adherence to strategy
Provides oversight of the all QA and Test Automation activities on assigned projects
Demonstrates deep experience in automated testing and techniques
Understands ATDD, TDD, and test automation
Able to build and implement automated testing frameworks from scratch.
Experience with dev tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, Protractor, Git, Sonar, Fortify,JMeter, Splunk, New Relic, GenRocket, Rally
Stays abreast of industry trends and technologies and knows when/how/if to apply them appropriately
Converses in many technologies and learns new technologies quickly
Sets standards for code reviews
Debugs any system, even those not written by themselves
Performs as an expert in multiple parts of the software lifecycle (e.g., coding, testing, development) and coaches other around such practices
Owns technical debt for multiple components or systems
Provides a clear and concise explanation of business strategy, technical concepts, designs or implementation to a non-technical audience
