Load Balancer Architect- Core Technology Infrastructure

**Job Description:**
Participates in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables, to include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements. Contributes to the determination of technical and operational feasibility of solutions. Develops prototypes of the system design and works with database, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation processes. May lead multiple projects with competing deadlines. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations, as well as mentor junior band 5 Architect 1's. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 7 or more years of architecture experience.

**Overview:**
In this role, the qualified individual would need to have hands-on experience with the F5 platform (vmWare NSX-ALB experience desirable), Global and Local load balancing, applications/protocols knowledge, troubleshooting experience, and routing protocol (BGP) knowledge. The responsibilities include working with stakeholders, building functional architectures, code / feature analysis, benchmarking, documentation of Architectures and vendor interaction. The right individual would need to be proficient with providing strategic direction and thought leadership, in support of enterprise initiatives, programs, and directives. This person would be versed in virtualization and cloud concepts (hands-on experience desirable), as well as security and compliance (ex. FIPS) regulations respective to the financial services sector.
**Required Skills:**
+ 7-10 years of IT experience
+ Advanced-level load balancing experience (10+ years preferred) in large enterprise environments
+ Subject Matter Expert on F5 platforms and functionality (GTM/DNS, LTM, APM, ASM/AWAF, AFM, VE)
+ Expertise in F5 CLI Shell (TMSH), F5 iRules (F5s TCL scripting language) and vmWare ALB DataScripts (Lua)
+ Working knowledge of DNS
+ Experience with virtual load balancing in both on-prem and cloud environments.
+ Expertise in L4- L7 protocols and networking fundamentals
+ Working knowledge of LINUX Systems Administration
+ Consulting and Proof-of-Concept execution Experience
+ SSL/TLS Certificate and Key management, and FIPS HSM integration
+ Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python, YAML)
+ Experience with Ansible or equivalent orchestrator
**Desired Skills:**
+ Experience as a key participant in collaborations with technology peers, i.e. thought leadership
+ Experience providing direction and technical expertise in proof of concepts, engineering, and validation of strategic architectures and solutions
+ Experience with vmWare NSX-ALB (Advanced Load Balancer) Cloud Architecture, Automation, and Integration
+ Experience with Integration with SDN, virtual, and container technologies, in providing multi-tenant solutions with load balancing services, Virtualization and Containerization on x86 servers
+ Experience providing key technical guidance for Application Delivery Controller functional design, engineering, and implementation best practices
+ AppViewX platform experience (APS, Automation +)
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, or a related study, Masters degree preferred
