The Opportunity
CFO Services helps CFOs and key finance leaders re-imagine the finance function and deliver finance transformation and performance improvement activities. The team blends independent perspectives with practical solutions based on real industry experience to build and deliver roadmaps that enable the change required to transform the operating model and organisation by leveraging best practices, digital processes, organisational redesign and technology.
The Role
An opportunity exists for a Finance Transformation expert at Managing Director level, with deep knowledge and insight, a broad and varied blend of operational and advisory background and a strong network of high-level contacts across UK and Europe. Working closely with the European Senior Leadership team, you will be responsible for the build out of the profile and reputation of the Firm, specifically in CFO Services. You will manage and deliver projects, win new business, and develop a world class team.
You will deliver client projects including finance function transformation, crisis cash management, cash flow forecasting and working capital optimisation. Assignments may include organisational design, operating model assessments, G&A cost reduction, working capital benchmarking, data analytics, integration or carve-out planning and, digitally enabled finance and accounting. You will work with the European Senior leadership to cultivate and foster new businesses and be part of shaping the future of the practice. You will be based out of London but be part of the pan-European practice and delivering European agenda and projects to CFO services clients.
Desired Skills and Experience
You will be experienced in finance transformation solutions that address businesses critical issues either in an advisory capacity or taking the reins in an interim C-Suite role. You will operate on a pan-European level and, leveraging A&M's brand and expertise, help shape and build a differentiated and best in class consulting services. The successful candidate will:
Lead the development of the CFO Services team in the UK and Europe by engaging with prospective clients and developing enduring senior level client relationships
Build the A&M brand and profile by successfully winning and delivering client assignments and managing project teams to exceed client expectations
Contribute to thought leadership and the development of the practice by raising the profile and our reputation with clients and internally across other teams
Provide a significant contribution to practice building activities such as recruiting and training junior team members
Identify and manage key strategic suppliers/ partnerships
You will have
10+ years' experience with the above outlined blend of corporate line management in a blue chip environment and advisory in a major advisory firm delivering finance transformation and performance improvement
Experience and consequently a robust network across the UK and European in Industrial Products, Automotive, Retail, Consumer Goods, Hotel and Hospitality, Business Services and Private Equity
A track record in supporting and driving the relationship and sales management process
Clear determination to deliver the latest thinking in functional solutions within a highly competitive advisory marketplace
Demonstrable leadership on large-scale projects including but not limited to post-merger integrations, carve-outs, value creation.
Evidence of converting business contacts and leads into sustainable, profitable revenue streams
Developing and executing a specific strategy focused on target clients and distinctive go-to-market propositions
Analytical rigour and financial experience
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and unpredictable environment.
First class education from a top-rated university; MBA is desirable but not essential.
Fluency in English is essential and other European languages are highly desirable.
