What you will do

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic engineering team which is responsible for the design and development of JCIs flagship Metasys Building Automation System (BAS) products. These are used globally to control and manage buildings for energy efficiency, comfort, and health. You will design and develop software for our network engine and server offerings.

How you will do it

  • As an individual contributor, you will plan, develop, and test software for backend data service APIs

  • Work closely with technical leads, Architects, and Product Managers to analyze technical requirements and translate them into software design, code, and test cases

  • Participate in agile software planning and development activities including daily standups, user story refinement, task breakdown, and effort estimation

  • Raising your hand and jump in where needed. Help to resolve blocking issues and/or work with your team to solve problems

  • Learn new technologies and work effectively across the full stack

What we look for

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of software development experience developing software products

  • Outstanding software development skills with an ability to analyze and debug issues with performance or design

  • Experience with object-oriented programming is a must; C#.NET preferred

  • Ability to work in a CI/CD workflow bring new ideas with you

  • Experience working on both Windows and Linux operating systems, including debugging

  • Full-stack preferred and/or strong interest to learn full-stack software development: Windows server and Embedded controller, UI front-end, services back-end, and knowledge of installation software

  • History working with Arduino / Raspberry PI is a plus

  • Passion for Technology: Quickly learn new technologies, have a passion for software and a pulse on industry trends

  • Global Perspective: Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the world
