**Principal Hardware Engineer Platform Engineer (US Remote)**

**What youll achieve**
Define hardware architecture for Unstructured Storage appliances. Focus on the requirements for enterprise level platforms. Along with the performance requirements that are needed to meet ingest, restore, replication targets. Work with product management and suppliers to ensure COGS targets are met along with above requirements. Ensure that the components of each products platform are in tune with industry trends and are being widely used. Work with internal factory and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of product with the highest quality.
**You will:**
**Define the hardware architecture for a complex storage appliance or server.**
**Lead an end-to-end design and adoption of a server or storage appliance**
**Drive product architecture across cross functional teams**
**Program management and or management experience to drive the projects**
**Experience working with wider industry to drive adoption of new technology**
**Successfully developed hardware components, firmware, drivers and must have several patents for innovation in the relevant areas.**
**Drive an end-to-end Unstructured Storage appliance offering**
**Drive the performance requirements with the system software and filesystem teams**
**Partner with Power Edge team to define Unstructured Storage appliance future**
**Partner with Power Edge team to define future Power Edge offerings where possible**

**Essential Requirements**
**Hardware design expertise**
**Solid knowledge and application of engineering concepts and problem-solving skills**
**Desirable Requirements**
**Experience with Fault tolerant and Highly Available systems architecture**
**Solid knowledge of hardware industry and new technology roadmap**
**Solid knowledge of hard drive, SSD, DIMM and other roadmaps**
**Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills**
**8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelors degree; or 6+ years with a Masters degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience**
