**Job Description:**



Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering, or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, and business) in the design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while maintaining principal architecture integrity. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and creates a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.



**Role Overview:**



An experienced Python developer is being sought to assist in building the next phase of our strategic OTC derivative confirmations platform in 2022 for equity swaps and FX Options. Coordination across all regions and development locations will be required to deliver a confirmation solution that will provide STP confirmation generation and matching for equity derivatives.



Technology stack will primarily be a Python-based in-house framework used front to back for pricing, trade capture, risk management, lifecycle management, confirmation, and settlement with a shared code base across all capital markets technology groups. A distributed object-oriented database with a high-speed search cache and a document generation vendor product SmartDX will also be used extensively.



GMOT provides technology solutions and services for capital markets operations within Bank of America Merrill Lynch. GMOT has development teams in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London, and India with business users in those locations as also Charlotte, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Sydney.



**Required Skills** :



+ 3+ years experience in object-oriented programming and design (Python, C++, Java, etc - Desire to improve skills and develop primarily in Python)

+ 3+ years experience in Unit testing framework and test-driven development

+ 3+ years of experience in distributed systems and object-oriented databases

+ 3+ years of experience in Linux, XML, and FpML



**Desired Skills:**



+ Familiar with MarkitServ, DS Match, & Swift (300,305,306) platforms for OTC derivatives, products, and operations processes

+ Familiar with Agile SDLC processes

+ Strong written and verbal communications

**Jersey City pay range:**



$90,500 - $160,000

annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
