ABOUT THE ROLE
The following is an outline of the basic duties and responsibilities of the above-titled position. It
describes the duties and responsibilities in the broad scope and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Individual(s) in this
position may, from time-to-time, be assigned other duties as appropriate.
Has a thorough understanding of our companys products and services and capabilities to serve our customers.
Provides strategic leadership in developing and implementing a sales strategy for the region that is consistent with
the divisions overall sales strategy, policies, procedures and objectives.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with customers while gaining an understanding of their
businesses, organization, and needs.
Plays a lead role in developing and maintaining relationships with major customers.
Develops effective relationships with the leadership within the organization to be able to provide effective service to
our customers and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Leads the development of the strategic sales plan for the region that translates into continued growth consistent
with the divisions goals.
Plays a lead role in developing new target accounts consistent with the overall sales strategy Leads the regions
sales team to meet or exceed established sales objectives.
Ensure sales team is fully compliant with OUPs anti-bribery and compliance programs, providing individual and team
training and support.
Leads the effective implementation of new programs and products.
Working with other regional managers, develop annual campaign schedule, and assist in campaign planning, launch
meetings, and mid-campaign reviews.
Maintain an awareness of any sales or customer issues needing personal involvement to resolve as well as any
changes in customer or industry trends.
Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
May be assigned other duties as required.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelors Degree or the equivalent relevant work experience
Typically 5 or more years of relevant experience, including sales and sales operations.
Experience in publishing industry, especially in library sales is highly desirable
Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales quota
Excellent communication, organization, record keeping, and PC skills required.
Supervisory or team lead experience is desirable
Ability to prioritize and meet sales budgets and contact requirements.
Experience with Internet research and understanding internet terminology.
Must also be willing to travel to library conferences, sales meetings, and on campus site visits as required or needed.
