**Job Description:**



A Software Engineer II is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This role ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. These individuals possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.



**Key Responsibilities:**



+ A software engineer to join a team of technologists working in the regulatory reporting program supporting Markets and Banking

+ The role is working within a scrum team developing Bank of Americas strategic regulatory reporting systems

+ The primary technology used by the team is Python and leverages the banks proprietary Quartz platform and is backed with a broader technical stack including Oracle Exadata , Tableau, SQL server, Elastic Search, 60 East AMPS and JavaScript

+ Role will encompass designing and developing solutions, enhancing our automated testing capabilities

+ Being a Python/Quartz application, solid Python experience is highly advantageous though we may considered proven software engineers transitioning from other languages



**Required Skills:**



+ Previous experience as a Python developer

+ Fluency in the Python language + Standard libraries

+ Knowledge of test-driven development/BDD

+ Experience with RDBMS

+ Grid computing

+ NoSQL/Document Oriented databases Cassandra, MongoDB

+ Highly Available/Scalable Search Elasticsearch



**Desired Skills:**



+ Knowledge of BofA enterprise standards

+ Knowledge of BofA application landscape

+ Knowledge key regulations MI fid, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC

+ Strong passion for delivering technical solutions to business problems

+ Very good understanding of object-oriented design principles and programming and be able to put this knowledge into practice.

+ Understand Agile software delivery methodology

LOB General:



Responsible for developing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. Familiar with development and testing practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); Analyzes test reports, identifies any test issues/errors; Triages the underlying cause. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Participates, contributes and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes. Individual contributor.
