A Software Engineer Advisor is a person that has a breadth of knowledge in computer science, a problem solving mentality and a passion for continuous improvement. The candidate must have superb analytical and technical skills coupled with the ability to mentor effectively. The applicant will be working on a technology team in Service Operations - Communications Experience Delivery (CED) and will be responsible for working cross functionally to develop solutions to support outbound member, prescriber and client communications.

Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth. Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation. This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain architecturally sound components, tools and applications

  • Create and maintain SQL Server databases, tables, and stored procedures

  • Involved in the full life cycle of projects

  • Responsible for unit testing and code deployment

  • Collaborate with peers, leadership, and business partners to drive solutions

  • Willing to participate in after-hours support rotation

Tools:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2019

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Azure DevOps, TFS, JIRA

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant work experience and technical knowledge

  • 5-8+ years Software Development Experience in Microsoft Stack (C# / .NET Framework 4.5+ / Webforms / ASP.NET)

  • Experience in N-Tier Architecture Data Processing / ETL Services

  • 3-5+ years of experience with SQL Server 2008/2016 database application development involving Transact-SQL, stored procedures and user-defined functions

  • Experience working in Object-Oriented environment

  • Experience in Windows Server Farm environment

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Experience with WebAPI, REST Services, JSON, and jQuery

  • MVC, Angularjs, Entity Framework

  • Kafka and NoSQL solutions (Elasticsearch)

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $95,900 - $159,800, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
