We have an opening for a Solution Architect - Integration role in our Chicago, IL office.
As a member of BISSELL's Digital Strategy team, you will be responsible for driving broad solution initiatives across multiple Digital applications in pursuit of a unified customer facing experience. You will have the background and experience to help BISSELL drive Global Digital Strategy forward and address the challenges related to the "middle office," what many are calling the "final frontier" of digital transformation. This role will have the expertise to architect solutions to drive digital transformation through a diverse set of business functions that are still orchestrated through manual processes shored up by a mix of legacy systems and best-of-breed point solutions.
Responsibilities
RUN WITH THE BIG DOGS
Drive large and complex solution initiatives across the enterprise with industry experience in Consumer Durable Goods
Build strong relationships and streams of collaboration across teams and SAFe solutions
Participate in building the architectural strategic direction for "middle office" integration components by exposing internal enterprise capabilities to Customers and Partners
Identify opportunities to leverage common solutions for cross-cutting concerns for broader and more complex functionality
Partner with key stakeholders to establish and adopt architectural best practices, guidelines, and standards
Participate in building our reference architecture
Provide architectural leadership in identification of technology partnerships
Drive buy vs build evaluations, including consideration of OSS
Evangelize new thinking, mentor, and coach less experienced associates
Qualifications
DESIGNED TO SUCCEED:
5+ years of Application or Integration Architect experience with a software development background
Experience in building modern Cloud Native Enterprise data hubs Architectures. eg: Lambda, Kappa
Experience with modern API patterns and how to build well-designed APIs. Expertise in implementing an Enterprise API program
Experience with Datalakes, Analytics platforms, multiple types of data stores and ETL systems eg: Synapse, Redshift, Matillion, Informatica, etc.
Experience leading technical architecture initiatives that impact many value streams (eg: multiple Agile/SAFe Release Trains)
Expert in the design and development of complex solutions with customer facing or enterprise applications
Deep cloud experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Azure
Experience with messaging/eventing architecture, concepts and technology such as MQTT, WebSockets, Kafka, EventHubs, Firehose, Streams
Experience with Container and Cloud Runtimes eg: AppServices, Lambda/Azure functions, etc.
Experience with implementing Robotic (RPA) or Intelligent Process Automation (IPA)
Track record of driving broad solution initiatives in large organizations with a disciplined and rigorous approach
Knowledge of Security best practices and tooling, OAuth, IAM, ...
Experience with Git or GitHub, Azure DevOps
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to produce clear and concise solution architecture documentation
Knowledge of popular Design Patterns. Microservice Driven Design, API Driven Design, Domain Driven Design, Event Driven, API First development
Excellent collaboration, influencing, evangelization, negotiation, coaching, mentoring, and coalition-building skills. Ability to work with persons at all levels, from the most junior person to VP levels, in all job functions (e.g., product, UX, developers, QA, DevOps).
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision. Self-directed
EXTRA TREATS:
Master's degree in Computer Science or similar degree
Consumer durable goods or Consumer Electronics industry experience
Experience with implementing Artificial Intelligence components into an architecture
Experience with Salesforce or/and Oracle ERP platform integration
React and/or Angular (or similar) framework experience
Experience with Performance testing
Experience with Cloud automation (Cloudformation, Terraform, ARM Templates)
