Role and Responsibilities


The Strategy Manager, Corporate Strategy position will provide Expert Analytics to inform Samsung Electronics America (SEA) strategy and executive decision making.


Key activities and responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring key market developments that can influence SEA business (competitor, macroeconomic, etc.)

  • Extracting insights from open (media reports, market reports, government data, expert interviews) and internal sources (business performance and P&L reports, etc.)

  • Data analytics financial, macroeconomic) and variance analysis

  • Data synthesis and interpretation (assessing key change drivers)

  • Data forecasting (e.g., using regressions, predictive modeling)

  • Preparing C-level reports communicating findings in a succinct and visual manner


Data Collection and Analysis:

  • [external] Monitor macro-economic quant data (e.g., CPI, housing starts, oil prices) and qual data (e.g., Op-Eds)

  • [internal] Communicate across teams to collect necessary data, ensure deadlines are met

  • [internal and external] Extract insights from consumer research

  • Assess the quantitative impact on sales performance/market share of SEA businesses


Data synthesis and presentation:

  • Assess correlation/impact of macroeconomic variables with business sales performance, structure visualizations for executives (e.g., monthly Economic Outlook reports, ad-hoc reports on deep dives)

  • Aggregate, check and verify/validate data consistency across multiple sources (e.g., total addressable market by business line)

  • Build and update standardized templates for reporting, ensure reporting consistency between teams

Ability to analyze, synthesize and visualize data; Excellence in financials; Critical thinking and decision-making; Ability to work under tight deadlines; Ability work with limited data; Clear/concise communication skills



Skills and Qualifications


  • Background in equity research, finance/banking, accounting, or strategic management consulting

  • CFA or CPA background preferred

  • 12-15 yrs related experience with BA/MS

  • Competence in macroeconomics, accounting

  • Proven analytical capabilities and skills

  • Excel fluency/advanced skills

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
