What you will do:
As the largest life insurance premium finance company in the country, Wintrust
We are seeking to add new Assistant Vice President, Assistant General Counsel. This position reports to the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel and deals with various areas of law, including transactional work, regulatory issues, litigation management, and bankruptcy. The position will work closely with all levels of management and provide legal advice that will minimize risk and capitalize on business opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Contract review and drafting
Legal research
Ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements
Interacting positively with regulatory agencies
Assisting outside counsel
Coordinating responses to discovery
Providing legal support on a broad range of financing matters
Effectively advising business units through both written and oral communication
Requirements:
1-3+ years of legal experience
Self-motivated, self-starter: Will take initiative to independently manage projects
Ability to act as both a business and legal advisor
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility and willingness to work on broad variety of legal matters
Demonstrated analytical skills: Will detect legal issues in all types of areas
Highly organized: Able to manage numerous assignments and prioritize time efficiently
Positive attitude and capable of establishing working relationships with coworkers
Education Requirements: J.D. from accredited law school, Licensed to practice law in the state of NJ.
