As part of an ambitious growth plan across EMEA, Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an experienced Public Relations (PR) professional. The role reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications, EMEA, with a dotted line to the Senior Director Global PR, and is responsible for managing day-to-day activities and reporting across the network of EMEA PR agencies as well as advising marketing colleagues on PR strategy and tactics. This role will also be responsible for working with the Senior Director of Global Public Relations to ensure consistency and continuity with global standards and expectations.

Based in London, this is an exciting and broad-reaching role which will connect with multiple areas of the business and staff at all levels. It is an opportunity to work with senior leaders to shape PR activities and make a difference to the firm.

The successful candidate will be a digitally savvy self-starter who has:

  • Demonstrated experience in PR, proactive and re-active media relations, and communications;

  • The ability to be an individual contributor and manage third-party PR agencies and other communications vendors as required.

  • Experience with integrated communications campaigns encompassing traditional, digital and social media assets

  • Strong writing and editing skills across multiple communications platforms

  • The ability to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

The role demands a results-focused professional with strong project management skills and a passion for delivering effective projects on time and on budget.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities and reporting across network of PR agencies in EMEA ensuring they are embedded in the business

  • Collaborate with Senior Director Global PR and EMEA Marketing Managers to help devise and deliver PR plans for each region, setting clear KPIs, ensuring communications standards and synergies, and managing regular performance reviews

  • Advise EMEA marketing team on PR strategy and tactics as part of their wider marketing plan and on a campaign basis

  • Manage and create content for key communication vehicles, including news releases, media pitches, media responses, by-line articles and blogs for executives, research reports, spokesperson quotes, messaging documents and award submissions

  • Manage multiple senior stakeholders, building consensus and operating as a trusted adviser on high level strategic PR execution

  • Provide PR counsel and support to the EMEA Leadership Team, including drafting reactive responses and Crisis Communications

  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to help develop differentiated messaging that resonates with the media

  • Lead media training efforts to increase bank of expert spokespeople, build brand awareness and ensure that new leadership joiners understand A&M's messaging/market differentiation

  • Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting on an ongoing basis and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies; testing, refining and making recommendations on strategy and tactics

  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of our PR activity and adjust plans accordingly

  • Amplify PR initiatives and campaigns internally

  • Support on overall corporate marketing initiatives, particularly on priorities such as diversity & inclusion and digital

Candidate should have strong experience in the following:

  • A number of years experience managing PR campaigns, PR content creation (news releases and related) and PR agencies supporting a B2B business, preferably in the professional services industry (legal, accounting or consulting background preferred)

  • Experience working within a PR agency or experience managing agencies

  • Deep understanding of how PR compliments broader marketing activities

  • End-to end project management involving multiple senior stakeholders

  • Strong writing skills, specifically related to news releases, digital content and similar

  • Proven ability to relate to and communicate with a variety of audiences

  • Managing and influencing strong media connections in the EMEA region

  • Managing C-suite executive(s) communications strategy

  • Using metrics to measure success and drive change

  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment and have strong project management skills, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
