Job Summary The University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business & Economics is seeking an experienced web designer/developer to design, build and manage the school’s extensive website as part of a cohesive Marketing Communications team. The web developer will work with team members and coordinate with part-time web editors to manage, create and code secure web pages.

The web developer will manage and support Drupal installation and ongoing implementation for the Gatton website. He/she creates feed-driven pages; continually improves existing sites to provide seamless web-service experience for clients; reviews and analyzes web traffic; works with Information Technology to design databases, forms, and other customer interfaces; conducts and maintains’ search engine optimization; provide strategic planning/thought leadership and implementation for mobile architecture and technologies. Works independently to evaluate new technologies, and implement where appropriate for college wide needs in marketing tools and new designs. Monitor industry trends to keep current in knowledge and use of latest website strategies.

He/she also serves as a technical resource to the college for projects related to a variety of online, digital and technical communications.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Advanced knowledge of web development software, Drupal, MySQL, PHP, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, data analytics and Google Analytics or similar, HTML, SEO and CSS, and Photoshop is essential. The position requires written and oral command of the English language and the ability to competently analyze content for the web. The ideal candidate will have strong communications and marketing skills in addition to technical expertise. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
