Our location in Lake County, IL, currently has an opportunity for an IT Service Manager. The IT Event Service Manager will be an overall, effective manager, communicator, and leader in the space of Conferencing and Events. She/he will be a proven service leader, able to conceptualize, plan, document and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization from end user to executive leadership. The correct candidate will possess energy, develop value-added service definitions, have a passion and deep knowledge of the evolving conferencing / streaming / meeting / collaboration industry, and help lead change.
What You’ll Do
Own the live streaming, online meeting, virtual event suite, the long-term vision, the roadmap, and quality assurance (Media Platform, Microsoft Live Events, Teams Meetings, WebEx Meetings, WebEx Events, etc.)
Manage the life cycle of our streaming, online meeting and virtual event suite of services
Operate as primary point of contact with vendors for day-to-day interactions on solution delivery
 Understand and communicate to vendors near term (less than six months) forecast for solution delivery services for infrastructure programs
Monitor and track event delivery execution (quality, cost, milestones) for services
Participate in measurement of project benefits achievement for live events under the guidance of management
Identify service or project issues for infrastructure programs and escalate them as appropriate after working with ITEs, Enterprise Architecture, and Supply/Vendor Management teams as necessary
Partner with production teams and IT teams to assure each event runs smoothly on Abbott’s infrastructure
Serve as the escalation point for IT tickets and help reduce and prevent issues that create problems
Assist with documentation to help with user support and internal IT cross-training
Consult with IT and internal customers as a trusted resource in proposing technology solutions
Set up, test, and maintain end to end workflow for streaming events
Act as a subject matter expert for streaming, meeting and collaboration tools, including keeping current with industry trends, vendor roadmaps, and platform features
Support internal and third-party engineering teams to assure projects get done on time
Collaborate with peers to define and implement best practices for service management and support across a multi-time zone office footprint
Monitoring and operations of live streaming events across platform
Ensure compliance with release management and change management practices under the guidance of management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required
Bachelors Degree Â
6+ years working with live online events, RTMP streaming, and Virtual Conferencing.
6+ years working beside Networking, Hosting, and other IT infrastructure teams.
Development and adherence to production workflows.
Experience producing events using “One to Many†virtual event delivery software (Webex live events, Teams Live Events, Socio, On24, INXPO, Media Platform, YouTube Live, etc.)
Running products at various stages of maturity, from legacy to greenfield.
Preferred
6+years as a Service Manager in a global environment.
Experience using best practices for tracking and managing API permissions and integrations.
Experience working directly with the end user at all levels of the organization including executive leadership
