AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Urban Designer for employment in our Dallas Office or Chicago Office. Based in these cities, but a hybrid work environment.

AECOM is searching for candidates that are detailed focus, capable of working on multi-disciplinary projects, and works well individually as well as on a team. The following are qualities we are looking for in this requisition.

• Responsible for initiating and developing site plans, based on direction and feedback from project team

• Under limited supervision, completes design assignments of limited complexity

• Applies a basic level of understanding on how urban design and physical planning affects the built environmentand can direct junior staff in the production of creating plans

• Feels comfortable working on projects that are a team effort, but can also lead internal team assignments

• Understand how to conduct existing conditions site analysis

• Candidates must show strong graphic skills and ability to communicate ideas and concepts through clear diagrams and data visualization.

• Designer that are collaborative and have a professional work ethic

• We seek designers with an understanding of building massing and block design; housing and commercial typologies; site circulation; programming; master planning; public processes and community outreach.

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS +4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Urban planning, Architecture, Urban Design or other related fields

• Experience in medium to large scale-urban design projects

• Experience in mentoring junior staff

• Demonstratedexperience with AutoCAD, GIS,Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or SketchUp is preferred

• Ability to work conduct client meetings and manage day-to-day requests from clients
