As a Portfolio Manager, you will promote the Advanced Surgical Instrumentation (ASI) product portfolio to drive and protect revenue at mid/large IDN/GPO's in specific markets across the U.S. Primary responsibilities include engaging the C-suite, hospital executive(s) and leaders within the Supply Chain for pan- ASI contractual conversations. In targeted IDN/GPO's you will own primary hospital executive relationships, gain deeper understanding into their challenges, apply targeting ASI solutions while developing and executing cross-ASI portfolio contracts for these opportunities. Alignment with the sales team within the Market will be critical to ensure execution and optimization of any agreement.

A Day in the Life:

  • Grow and maintain partnerships within assigned accounts to understand, align, and support customer initiatives, identify optimal ASI solutions and have alignment and agreement from Executive levels within the IDN/GPO.

  • Assigned accounts and IDN/GPO's may include large academic and regional medical centers and/or competitive accounts.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with regionally aligned field sales team to drive incremental ASI revenue in contract categories that represent the greatest amount of competitive share.

  • Act as contractual owner for all cross-ASI portfolio sales opportunities within assigned regions

  • Partner with internal contracting, pricing, and finance teams and utilize available analytics tools to demonstrate contractual performance, implement solutions when necessary.

  • Collaborate and align with US Marketing and Offer Development on creative contracting solutions to bring new value in changing Markets.

  • Educate Supply Chain/C-Suite on MDT value added services brought forth by Therapy Specialists and local sales team to help drive contractual compliance and/or minimize competitive spend.

  • Inform sales leaders and local area team members of new account opportunities, align and implement solutions to drive incremental share.

  • Own scheduling, coordination and necessary collaboration for quarterly business reviews within the targeted Market IDN's and GPO's.

  • Partner/ Collaborate with OU Strategic Accounts resources to ensure the Region/Market is aware and implementing most recent and aggressive contracting nuances available to the business.

  • Partner with US Marketing to ensure awareness and alignment to any impending threat to our business, work in concert with the local field sales team to proactively protect our business contractually and with our KOL's within the IDN/GPO.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining Senior/C-Suite level relationships with strategic partners and working with them to identify and qualify new business opportunities.

  • Develops and drives appropriate portfolio management strategy in collaboration with the Business Units to expand and protect market share, optimize pricing strategy, and build long-term contractual agreements and relationships with clients and strategic partners.

  • Responsible for understanding the assigned account's strategic priorities and developing appropriate value-added programs for each account.

  • Develops, communicates, and implements business plans to achieve strategic target business results.

  • Identifies and develops ongoing mutual opportunities for sales growth with key strategic accounts.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years of medical device/ operating room sales experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of medical device sales experience

Nice to Have

  • Business Acumen, extensive knowledge of all ASI products within the portfolio with the ability to speak to performance of these products within these markets and apply that knowledge to both market share and revenue-based agreements.

  • The innate ability to analyze regional sales potential while aligning to the Market growth expectations, the ability to overlay and agreement that protects and grows all ASI businesses.

  • The ability to help the local sales leaders to help drive optimal contract optimization with the ultimate goal of high share across all ASI BUI's within targeted IDN/GPO's.

  • Experience negotiating and implementing local contracts to demonstrate the ability to understand a customer need and then apply an ASI agreement to solve those needs and drive incremental share within the Market.

  • MS Office, PowerPoint, Tableau, SalesForce skills are value-added, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills are common, strong organizational skills will be helpful.
