Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL is currently seeking a VMware Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama on the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) foreign military sales efforts. IBCS integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective IAMD enterprise. IBCS delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS into their militaries, other nations will transform their IAMD capabilities in a manner consistent with the U.S. Army.
In this role, the selected candidate designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates the design of subsystems and integration of the total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal: 5 Years with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD, or additional years of experience in lieu of degree
Sr Principal 9 Years with Bachelors; 5 years with Masters; 3 years with PhD, or additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
+ Strong knowledge of VMware 6/7 and Horizon 7/8
+ Experience in the use of Datastores, Virtual Switches, Distributed Switching, etc.
+ Application of STIGs, patching, and resource management of production VMware virtual environments
+ Must have Security+ Must have active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience in standing up new Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and installation of supporting Windows and RHEL virtual desktops
+ Moderate experience and strength in Cisco networks, VLANS, L2 switching, port channels
+ iSCSI and NFS protocols
+ Work with an existing Infrastructure team supporting multiple dynamic teams of users
+ Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Windows Key Management Services
+ Strong knowledge of RHEL7/8, be able to apply patches, STIGs and perform high-level tasks in RHEL
+ OS Certification i.e., Linux+, RHSA, Network+, CCNA, CCNP, VMware, etc.
Salary Range: $92,000.00 - $138,000.00Salary Range 2: $114,000.00 - $170,000.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
