COST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE
Michael Baker International's Cost Management group provides cost engineering and cost management services to
clients in the federal, state, and private sector markets. Our certified and credentialed cost engineers and cost estimators
routinely support the planning, design, and construction of domestic and international construction and environmental
projects for the Department of State, Department of Defense, civilian federal agencies, and state/local municipalities. Our
team is highly proficient with current, customer-preferred software, including MII, PACES, P6, Sage Estimating, and
SUCCESS.
DESCRIPTION
As a part of the Michael Baker International Cost Management Practice, the project controls specialist will work
in a lead role in the management and execution of cost engineering task orders with clients in the federal market. You
will be part of our Cost Engineering team providing scheduling, project controls, and related consulting services to our
US Government and private sector clients. Ancillary to your core duties you will have the opportunity to be involved in
project management, operational oversight, business development, and growth of existing service lines such as cost
estimating, value engineering, scheduling, project controls, and cost consulting. You will have experience providing cost
engineering and related services in the public or private sectors. Prior experience with USACE, MILCOM, and Civil Works
is a plus. This position will be based at home with travel to Los Alamos, NM.
- Experience providing cost engineering, project controls, risk management, and related services, plus a business
background in the federal sector. Preferably with the USACE, NAVFAC, and DOE/NNSA.
- Experience in Cost Engineering, Risk Management, Planning and Scheduling, Project Controls, Analytics
, and Cost Management Consulting.
- Experience in Project Management providing leadership and management of project teams.
- Provide development of technical work products with cost estimates, schedules, and baselines.
- Establish and maintain client relationships.
- Manage metrics for measuring performance, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide status reports and operational briefs to clients and CMD Management.
- Coordinate and direct projects, evaluate and oversee resources.
- Perform administrative functions such as employee management, performance reviews, approving expenditures,
enforcing rules, and making procurement decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the A/E and construction industry
- 5 years of experience with U.S. Government clients such as USACE, NAVFAC, DOE/NNSA, DOD, and DHS. Preferably in
a project leadership role.
- Active Certification(s) from AACE International (CCP), PMI, CMAA or similar organizations.
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in Baseline Development and Work Breakdown Structures.
- Experience in Cost Control/Project Controls and Earned Value Risk Management, Risk Management.
- Cost Engineering Experience with projects located CONUS and OCONUS.
- Experience with Cost and schedule reviews.
- Software experience in the following: P6, Crystal MII, Sage Timberline, SUCCESS Ball, MS Project, MS Office.
- Open to occasional travel domestically and internationally.
- Secret Security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $54,000-$132,000.
