Job Description Summary:

The Senior Director, Marketing Operations will serve as a chief advisor to the CMO and Managing Director, Marketing, Communications and Experience; acts on their behalf with internal and external stakeholders to extend the reach of the CMO and Managing Director; and systemically optimizes performance and transparency to facilitate accountability, alignment, and agility across the MCX division. This role provides strategic analysis and advice at a very senior level and thus should have demonstrated success in relationship management as well as strong communication and presentation skills. Senior Director, Marketing Operations partners with other organizational leaders to ensure alignment toward critical business needs while working across the function to develop and implement processes, tools, metrics, and initiatives that will improve effectiveness and efficiencies across the MCC division.

This position will lead the development of the MCX business across 4 core activities:
Serve as a trusted advisor to provide confidential counsel and guidance on all issues impacting the MCC function.
Implement and refine organizational design and marketing operating models and process
Collaborate with HR and external partners as needed to lead skills, communication, talent development and acquisition, engagement and team building efforts.
Establish and lead an effective project portfolio framework to ensure effective project/program identification, design, execution, value measurement and governance across MCX.

This position is located in New York, NY or London, UK and reports to the Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer.

Job Description:

As a Senior Director, Marketing Operations, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Consult closely with the Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer to integrate strategic planning for the MCC function across MCC sub-functions and develop, collect, and report on function team metrics and KPIs to the MCC leadership team for consolidation with CFA metrics and KPIs as a whole.

  • Support the reach of the Managing Director, CMO across a network of external relationships (e.g. member groups, societies, agencies, media, etc.) to garner support for key initiatives, provide guidance and support, and to ensure follow up with key stakeholders.

  • Develop and sustain productive internal partnerships across regions and divisions and support the reach of the Managing Director across a network of relationships to garner support for key initiatives, provide guidance and support, and to ensure follow up with key stakeholders.

  • Represent the interests of MCX at all levels and functional areas as needed.

  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures including go-to-market design and optimization.

  • Lead a team to develop and implement in partnership with IT a marketing technology roadmap that increases automation and drives efficiency.

  • Lead a team to develop and implement in partnership with data operations, a data strategy that leads to increased understanding of our customers and the impact marketing investments have on behavior.

  • Establish a marketing performance measurement framework and report on progress toward marketing KPIs.

  • Oversee budget management and forecasting.

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders on MCX activities.

  • Formulate, recommend and review policies and procedures; identify issues, opportunities and challenges; lead or oversee the implementation of these activities

The skills and experience required for this role are:

  • A strong interest in marketing and customer experience excellence

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 7 plus years of experience in a direct / digital marketing or business operations where analytical skills have been critical to overall success.

  • Highly organized and a proven facilitator of effective and value-added outcomes.

  • An effective leader, self-directed, proactive, and action-oriented with initiative and vision.

  • Fluency in English required, knowledge of additional languages would be useful

  • Global cultural orientation and working experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor

  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation

  • Very high level of organizational and time management skills

  • Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations

  • Must demonstrate outstanding judgment and mature business skills with the ability to establish a strong rapport with senior management

  • Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery

  • Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a plus
