Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include:

• Work with team members to design and implement Linux solutions for customer-generated requirements to facilitate vendor integration

• Design and implement novel solutions to complex and unique problems

• Maintain and optimize Java/Python software in support of developing systems and environments

• Mentor, train and coach junior engineers

• Collaborate with vendors to create integration solutions for various subsystems

• Integrate software and hardware from various vendors to produce functional products that meet system requirements.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software to correct integration problems during all phases of integration and testing

• Design, develop, and maintain software to meet volatile customer needs and requirements

• Coordinate and interact with vendors and customers to understand needs and issues

Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requirements:

• Experience with Red-Hat Linux distributions

• Distributed, system-of-system experience

• Knowledge and experience using virtual machine platforms, networking

• Experience with Python, Bash, and/or Java

• Experience with Bamboo & Maven

• Ability to design and create new integration processes for multiple vendors

• Work on short turnarounds to solve issues with systems to meet unrealistic customer schedules

• Ability to debug network, hardware, and software issues from multiple vendors during integration

• Ability to push the limits of what software can or should be used for

• Current DoD Security Clearance

• Good oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with system integration

• Experience with application, network, and infrastructure performance monitoring and analysis

• Experience with Linux networking and firewall configuration

• Familiarity with DoD Cybersecurity requirements and secure configuration guidelines such as DoD STIGs

• Proficiency with Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, Bamboo)

• Familiarity with CI processes and lifecycle

Education/Experience

5+ years of professional experience

BS in Computer Engineering or similar degree



This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

Physical and Mental Requirements for all positions:
Prolonged stationary periods at a desk
General ability to operate computer and other productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.
Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds at times
Effectively communicate with others
Ability to stay focused and provide attention to detail.
Ability to think analytically and apply problem solving skills to scenarios throughout the course of the workday
