BASF Corp. is seeking a qualified Senior Sales Manager (North America) to develop, implement, and monitor agreed sales strategies (including pricing implementation) and provide clear strategic direction to the sales organization. This is a remote role in the US with a strong location preference close to a BASF local office. BASF is promoting NAS® Battery, a long-duration stationary energy storage battery solution, manufactured by NGK Japan. As a Senior Sales Manager, you will work within a global sales team reporting to the Head of Sales.

Excellent communications and leadership skills, representing BASF at key customers, authorities, and key partners. Our sales manager is self-directed and a pragmatic professional who is experienced in the sales process of utility scale projects with different layers of challenges. You are acquainted with standards, codes and best practices for electrical equipment and energy storage solutions. You are holding extensive sales experience preferably in installation of utility scale energy storage projects.
As a representative of BASF, you support promotion and marketing of NAS® Battery on tradeshows, present in conferences, congresses, and tradeshows, with the competence to speak to larger audiences. A good network to our existing and potential customers from the energy storage market is desirable; flexibility, adaptability and fast pace working qualities are a must.
Your responsibilities
Managerial Duties:
Develop, implement, and take responsibility for financial performance to achieve agreed sales target.
Develop market intelligence within the sales force to pursue market growth, sustainable customer base, attracting new customers and understanding the application and strategic interest needs of the business.
Responsible for the sales process, business strategy and cross business collaboration to maximize synergies connected to BASF values.
Leadership Duties:
Manage relations with EPC, Equipment Suppliers, and other associates through all sales stages until effectiveness of the contract.
Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential, and support relevant development assignment, opportunities and moves while motivating and challenging employees to drive high performance as a virtual team.
Take thorough responsibility for sales process and its execution, requiring understanding and managing the scope, stakeholders, and schedule while keeping all parties coordinated.
Technical Duties:
Target new and developing accounts, territories prioritization plan and manage new/existing business with clients
Highly responsive to customers, understanding the client needs, building trust and the ability to turn project sale opportunities into closed deals
Work with your peers in other regions to share best practices, learnings, solve problems, and devise new initiatives and improvements
Deliver feedback to product and supply teams to enable future platform sales
Prepare quotation and propose our products & services to clients
Eligibility Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering or any technical discipline.
At least 10 years of B2B sales experience, especially in engineering and construction management in the power generation market, experience with utilities, project developers and EPCs as customers would be advantageous.
Strong verbal and written communication and being able to clearly present suggestions and ideas to internal and external parties.
Prepare, report and present sales status for Management Reviews.
Able to do frequently business trips (basically in North America but might also require Europe and Japan).
Show flexibility to work remotely (or on a hybrid schedule)
Strong English language skills are required
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Strong PC and general technology skills (particularly full MS Office). Hola
