Position Summary

The Video Production Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, conceptualizing, pitching, development, and creation of videos that visually illustrate the ANA's mission, Growth Agenda, and content plans. The individual will work closely with other business units to proactively seek and identify compelling content to be shared across ANA-owned channels, as well as other external audiences. Additionally, the Video Production Manager will be responsible for managing a Video Coordinator to ensure online and physical archive of assets and workflow tracking are managed consistently. The individual will also ensure processes are followed for maximum efficiency and provide guidance to team members on creative, administrative, and process requirements. The Video Production Manager will report to the VP of Production and provide support to others on the Marketing and Communications team by contributing to the overall creative process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner and collaborate with Marketing and Communications team and internal business units to create digital content that tells our story, showcases our content, and engages our staff, members, speakers, partners, and the public using videography of the ANA's Growth Agenda efforts.

  • Develop video projects from concept to completion, including offering feedback to others on ongoing projects.

  • Develop and outline creative vision and production schedules of each execution based on promotion plan and priority.

  • Assess, prioritize, and facilitate requests from multiple departments across the organization to present the organization's work while balancing team workload and optimizing ROI.

  • Scout locations, identify subjects, write interview questions, and guide subjects through interview and filming process.

  • Oversee all facets of production from pre to post for own work and that of Coordinator.

  • Oversee maintenance of video library and archive of footage.

  • Strategize with Marketing and Communications team on plans for multimedia content.

  • Lead in collaborating with Marketing and Business partners to script and produce video content for all ANA channels.

  • Advise on recommended technology upgrades.

  • Format and distribute video internally and externally as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years of film/video production experience

  • Experience using video to articulate complex concepts and emotionally compelling narratives

  • Digital portfolio of professional work

  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro X as well as Adobe CC suite of products (primarily Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects)

  • Other non-linear editing programs as necessary

  • Knowledge/experience with photography, specifically with Canon equipment

  • Experience with documentary video practices as well as field and studio lighting

  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and lift/carry camera equipment and related equipment. 

Attributes/Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in overseeing all areas of video production from ideation, pre-production, and scripting to overseeing editing through delivery

  • Ability to provide editorial judgment during the production process to ensure final product is on-brand and on-message, understanding that creative projects should align with the organization's mission and key goals

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, independently and with varying levels of direction

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent project demands with quick turnaround times

  • Patient and persistent, curious, comfortable in asking and receiving questions

  • Must be self-motivated

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Foster open communication and provide consistent and constructive feedback with other team members and supervisor to elevate our storytelling and strengthen relationships with program experts
