JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for overall operation of the Environmental Services Department (Casino Clean Team) on an assigned shift, ensuring that the highest level of cleanliness is achieved and maintained.
Schedules all personnel as necessary for efficient operation of Shift.
Develops and maintains approved training and safety programs.
Coordinates purchasing of cleaning supplies and equipment for department.
Provides counseling and support to personnel to meet their responsibilities.
Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required.
Must possess strong communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team member and team leader.
Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Minimum of two years in the field of Housekeeping or Environmental Services in a management or supervisory capacity is preferred.
Must possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software package, and understanding of the budget process and supply inventory and control.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned tasks in order to perform job duties of line level employees in emergency and training situations. Must be able to work in an indoor environment containing second-hand smoke. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations, must respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts. Must read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
