We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Development Manager experienced in digital transformation. This role will report to the Director of Applications Development and Innovation Architecture.
As a Senior Application Development Manager, you will lead application development efforts that will help GA IT realize a transformation strategy for the business applications and development platforms across the enterprise. You will lead the transition from a largely on-prem traditional application environment to a modern cloud-forward environment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion and operationalize the adoption and deployment of low code applications built on the Mendix platform.
Lead the development of highly scalable, hybrid on-prem and multi-cloud native applications.
Drive the creation of solutions and technology roadmaps with a heavy focus on loosely coupled application architectures employing extensive use of APIs, API management, and microservice architectures.
Provide leadership and coaching in agile software development methodologies.
Directs all applications activities for assigned business unit(s), group(s) or company.
Develops and modifies procedures to ensure application standards to maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility; develops, interprets and modifies policy, practices and guidelines.
Directs activities to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.
Participates with executive management in the development and implementation of current, annual and long-term strategic objectives for the assigned business unit(s), group or company.
Ensures future requirements are met by maintaining awareness of new technology developments.
Represents the company as a knowledgeable resource on information technology and systems function; acts as primary contact for applications programs.
Directs the planning, attraction, selection, retention and development of personnel.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. 9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Strong understanding of agile principles and software development methodologies,
Solid understanding of Cloud technologies and offerings such as AWS or Azure with at least expertise and/or certification in one while having an aptitude and appetite to learn others.
Experience designing RESTful APIs that facilitate a superior UX and simplify systems integration.
Experience in creating DevSecOps and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Proven experience leading product evaluations and proof of concept development initiatives.
Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems.
