Engineer will work with a team of talented individuals and will be responsible for design, development and testing of applications and components that integrate with complex enterprise systems and with external vendors. Individual is expected to have extensive experience working with distributed applications and be passionate about solving complex data integration problems using best technologies available.
Engineer should be highly motivated, a self-starter and a well-rounded team player who works best in a collaborative and agile environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential as an individual in this role will actively work with remote scrum teams, business owners, enterprise architects, security and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities
Leverage existing open source frameworks, third party components/libraries, cloud and commercial software to design and develop robust enterprise solutions.
Utilize existing capabilities and be inclined to reuse existing proven technologies vs building from scratch or reinventing the wheel.
Enable a 360-degree view of customer-centric information through integration of a multitude of internal/external systems, mobile apps, devices, and data marts.
Ability to implement test driven development with strong focus on automated testing.
Support and enhance existing Cigna Supplemental Benefits applications used by consumers, brokers and operations staff.
Participate in all agile ceremonies effectively.
Ability to lead team of mid-level developers.
Skillset
Engineer should be very familiar with advanced concepts and have relevant, hands-on experience in many of the following areas to be a successful contributor to the team:
Java, J2EE and related frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot, ORM technologies etc.
Microservices Architecture and Rest patterns using leading industry recommended security frameworks.
Cloud and related technologies such as AWS, Google, Azure.
UI development experience using Angular/Typescript/Javascript technologies.
Exposure to python, Node.js and other similar scripting languages
Test Automation Skills using Behavioral Driven Development.
Data Integration (batch, real-time) following Enterprise Integration Patterns.
Service Oriented Architecture (event-driven SOA, Web Services, REST, ESB).
Message driven architecture (JMS, SOA, Spring).
Relational Database, No SQL Database and Data Modelling,
Database development & tuning (PL/SQL/XQuery).
Performance (threading, indexing, clustering, caching).
Document-centric data architecture (XML DB/NoSQL).
Knowledge of reporting/BI tools such as Tableau would be plus.
Knowledge of dev-ops based CI/CD tools would be plus.
Qualifications
Typically seven or more years of considerable, diverse work experience in Information Technology with a minimum of five years' experience in application development. Ideal candidate will have relevant experience either as a consultant or working for a start-up company.
This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $115,100 - $191,800, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
