**Service Engineer 2 - Epic Client Systems Engineering *Remote within USA***

Providence deploys one of the largest implementations of Epic in the country, with the focus on keeping current with cutting edge technology, automated processes, and individual training. We are seeking an enthusiastic technologist that has experience with Citrix XenApp, Windows Server OS, application deployment, automation scripts and managing resources in Microsoft Azure, to be the 8th member of our Epic Client System Administrator (ECSA) team. The candidate will manage, engineer and optimize the client, server and delivery infrastructure for the typical Epic applications under the ECSA umbrella, but will mostly focus on the user presentation tier of applications and services like Hyperspace, Hyperspace Web, Warp Drive and others. This position will also include designing, engineering, documenting, and implementing, updates and solutions for our client-server systems software. This position also assists other Epic 3rd party application teams with their integration into Epic as needed which can include assisting with the design, architecture and documentation of those installs and integrations. The entire team strives towards the common goals of application performance, security, resiliency, standardization, automation and efficiency.

We are seeking an Epic Client Systems Engineer to perform all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. Serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization. Manages, analyzes, engineers the client, server and delivery infrastructure for Epic applications across the enterprise. This position has multiple levels including both engineering and operational work as well as on call and after hours duties including implementing and supporting the client-server systems and applications for Epic Windows Services Servers and client software such as Interconnect, Hyperspace, EPS, Web BLOB, Hyerspace Web and other Epic Windows based applications. Will assist other Epic 3rd party applications teams with their integration into Epic as needed which can include assisting with the design, architecture and documentation. Working at local, regional and enterprise levels the level 2 strives towards the common goal of application performance, standardization, automation and efficiency. Knowledge of the inner workings of Epic systems, outside of the Windows based applications, is also preferred.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -or- equivalent education/experience
+ 2 years related experience;
+ Experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes
+ Experience with n-tier solutions
+ Experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually)
+ Experience in a Healthcare environment

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Windows Server experience especially managing IIS web servers/ services
+ Citrix XenApp administration.
+ Experience with scripting, programming and automation.
+ Experience with managing resources in Microsoft Azure.
+ Must be familiar with modern scripting and programming languages to automate tasks with PowerShell, JSON/REST and C#.
+ Infrastructure as code configuration automation like Terraform, Ansible and Chocolatey.
+ Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems especially in a virtualized environment (Citrix and VMware).
+ Fully understands Windows system features/ roles, registry tweaks, AD Group Policy structures, performance, and reliability tuning techniques.
+ Knowledge of networking technologies (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTPS, FTP, SMB, SNMP, LDAP, etc). Knowledge of how network appliances such as load balancers, routers, firewalls and network intrusion systems that can enhance or impede security, reliability and performance.
+ Fluent with diagnostic tools like Perfmon, SysInternals, Wireshark, LogInsight, and Fiddler.
+ Leadership in discovering new technologies that improve application security, uptime and performance. Ability to review current system and operational support standards and recognize when changes should be made and then document and communicate those changes.
+ Must be a motivated self-starter who is able to develop goals and associated work plans with little to no oversight from management.
+ Ability to comprehend release notes for software and hardware upgrades, and understand the ramifications of those upgrades.
+ Have the social and technical confidence to actively participate in contributing ideas and solutions while in a group or individual setting.
+ At least 2 years experience as Epic Client System Admin (ECSA)
