Job Description



HII is searching for a Computer / Software Engineer who can support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and DoD Technology Transfer and Transition (T3) programs with the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Defense Technology Transfer Information System (DTTIS).





Essential Job Responsibilities



Responsibilities



+ As a member of the development team, you will be called upon to support full lifecycle software engineering and full-stack (LAMP) development to implement and provide enhancements to the DTTIS suite of both public and internal web portal applications, custom built workflow, data consolidation, integration, search engines, and reporting tools.


+ Support end-to-end life cycle for the production of software and applications


+ Facilitate software utilizing the AGILE SDLC methodology


+ Work with current development team to develop and deploy new features in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MongoDB, PHP) environment


+ Maintain and upgrade and modify the software during and following deployment


+ Develop and design RESTful services and effective APIs


+ Write clean, well designed code following industry best practices


+ Work with T3 practitioners and stake holders to improve software and create new capabilities based on user requirements


+ Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency


+ Write technical documentation


+ Conduct regular hardware and software testing using available technology and testing tools


+ Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade software and create security and data protection settings


+ Work with cloud hosting service to support migration of DTTIS


+ Work closely with network support staff to identify and take care of network bugs, and design network expansions






Minimum Qualifications



Qualifications



+ Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, or relative field with 8 years of proven job-related experience


+ 5 or more years working with both hardware and software in a large corporate office environment or Federal Government (i.e., DoD) environment


+ Strong knowledge and understanding of the full software engineering & development lifecycle from initial requirements gathering/scoping to production grade products


+ Understanding and knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, PHP, JSON, UNIX/Linux shell scripting


+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills


+ Experience in supporting AGILE methodology for software development lifecycle


+ Experience with JIRA, DevOPS or other software development management systems


+ Knowledge of source code version control repositories and configuration management, such as: Subversion (SVN) or Git


+ Willingness to work off-core-hours, when necessary, to deploy software or upgrade hardware


+ Decisiveness under pressure and strong critical thinking skills


+ Great time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize


+ Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical team


+ Must be able to work from home as necessary


+ Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodology


+ Experience working with Agile tools, including Atlassian, Jira and Confluence.


+ Strong knowledge with Angular 11 Framework (3+ years experience minimum)


+ Experience with cloud development in AWS GovCloud environment preferred


+ Strong software experience in PHP, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML


+ 5+ years experience with Kubernetes


+ 5+ years experience with Docker including the following:


+ Migrating source code to a Docker container


+ Deploy and maintain a multi-container application


+ Experience with unit testing Angular Framework and PHP Mockery


+ Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to acquire a Secret level clearance required
