Role
The Sr Data Analysts primary function is to manage, coordinate, and partner with the Billing Team to facilitate discounted customer billings including E-Rate, Rural Health Care (RHC), California Teleconnect Fund (CTF) and other government subsidized programs. This position leads a variety of complex account reconciliations and requires specialized problem-solving skills and knowledge of company processes and procedures. This position will report directly to the Manager Billing & Cash Applications.
Responsibilities
Understand the business and billing rules surrounding E-Rate, Rural Health Care (RHC), and California Teleconnect Fund (CTF)
Develop queries to extract data from multiple sources, analyze and provide clear direction to the Billing Team in support of discounted billing
Coordinate with internal groups (sales, legal and customer service) to align an effective customer billing, collection, and cash application process
Review contracts to ensure invoices align with supporting documentation
Proactively make recommendations for improvements to process and data management
Adhere to data governance standards and procedures
Complete ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager Billing & Cash Applications
Expectations
Prefer experience related to governmental billing rules and regulations
Prefer experience with mining data, reviewing the data and generating root cause analysis
Must have strong general knowledge of billing and collections process cycles
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and within tight deadlines
Ability to articulate challenges and professionally present actions and solutions
Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
Ability to utilize ERP systems, such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Oracle
Education/Certifications
BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management
Experience/Minimum Requirements
Five (5) + years professional experience as a data analyst
Experience in a multi-functional role and using multi-company accounting software package Oracle Preferred.
Proficiency with advanced Excel functions (e.g., creating formulas, pivot tables), etc.
Prior experience working on big data systems and comfortable working with structured/unstructured querying
Deep understanding of how data processing pipelines work and pulling data for analysis & reporting
Ability to influence diverse audiences and build strong partnerships with stakeholders

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
