Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a **Sr. Principal Military Trainer - Targeting Team Lead, Scenario Design** to join our growing team of diverse professionals at **Fort Leavenworth, Kansas** . This position is in support of the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) and trains Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and Operations Process. MCTP facilitates Army simulation exercises replicating a robust Operating Environment (OE) for units to conduct Large Scale Combat Operations.

**Targeting Team**

This team is part of Scenario Design and works with Plans and CUOPS to develop the HICOM targeting plan. This includes development of the JTL, JPTL, and targeting packets. The team travels to exercises and will be split between the HICOM and ECG to maintain the appropriate situational awareness and control for the exercises.

+ In planning, serves as part of the Plans Team to develop operational environments, scenarios, and HICOM orders for execution
+ In preparation, the team develop and refines targeting packets at the HICOM level and above. This is done using the MIDB, JTT, and the scenario being used
+ In execution, facilitates the targeting process at the HICOM level and above as a core member of the HICOM TWG and TDB IOT ensure the exercise is creating the desired training conditions
+ During the ELC (Exercise Life Cycle), the team serves as a conduit and liaison between Scenario Design, MCTP, and the respective training unit fires sections. This includes participating and facilitating the Exercise Design Targeting Working Group as appropriate

**Responsibilities:**

+ Serves as contract lead for the team and deputy to the military lead of the Targeting Team
+ Directs, integrates, and synchronizes the team efforts and serves as the continuity to the holistic fires system
+ Facilitates the respective WFX HICOM
+ Integrates additional WfF personnel to facilitate planning and execution
+ Anticipates, accounts for, and responds to WfF-specific RFIs associated with the scenario and order
+ Operationally applies current doctrine to develop WfF appropriate concepts
+ Writes Orders and WfF Annexes at the Corps and Land Component level
+ Sets the conditions for scripted stimulus and injects by foreshadowing problems in the in orders
+ Incorporates best practices into the planning process and products

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ One of the following:
+ High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
+ Bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
+ Masters degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
+ U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or MEL 4 equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE)
+ U.S. Military service as a Field Grade Officer (COL, LTC)
+ Familiar with current Army and Joint doctrine
+ Must possess and active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
+ Proficient with AFATADS
+ Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
+ Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Graduate Degree
+ U.S. Army War College or service equivalent
+ Mastery of current Army and Joint doctrine
+ Experience as an Observer, Coach, Trainer (OCT) and as a WFX participant
+ Experience targeting using MIDB and JTT

Salary Range: $81,600.00 - $122,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
